So this is a completely random and pointless post and really I just created it to vent, but as we speak I am soooo very hungry and of course craving foods that just aren't around here! (And while the pregnancy doesn't exactly help with cravings.. for anyone that knows me.. cravings are just a normal part of my life, pregnant or not.. but pregnancy does perhaps increase them) I am just going to warn you: this may sound very whiney and ungrateful. Here it goes..
WHY can't Columbus, MS offer more food choices?! And why did we have to get an airforce base in such a crappy location?! Okay, I admit Laughlin would probably be worse. Was I really that spoiled back in Kansas City?! I mean, unless you are born and raised in the south.. who is going to crave some crawfish or dry rub bbq?? Is a freezoni from Quiktrip and a piece of red velvet cake cheesecake to much to ask for?!? Or what about a simple oreo blizzard from Dairy Queen? And don't even get me started on Tippin's French Silk Chocolate Pie from Price Chopper.. Or italian ices from Fazoli's.. And lets not forget the amazing baked goods from The Corner Cafe.. okay the list goes on and on.
Obviously, I didn't realize just how amazing I had it before we moved down here. To everyone back "home" please realize the plethora of food choices that surround you! I cannot believe the things that came out of my mouth when we lived there "I am tired of going to the same places, there are no good restaurants to eat around here!!" Oh my, my... let me tell you friends, I had not yet been to the infamous Columbus, MS. Oh what I would do to sink my teeth into a piece of some rich and creamy french silk chocolate pie or a piece of light and fluffy red velvet cake cheesecake.
While I could go on forever complaining about how there is nothing to eat around here, I am somewhat thankful. If I lived back in Kansas City right now I would surely be 20-30 lbs heavier than what I am now.. yes, yes that is a blessing. So for now, I will continue to cook healthy foods at home (which by the way I made some amazing chicken and spinach manicotti tonight.. yeah! Who needs Zios or Olive Garden?!)and look forward and count down the days until the big event.. the next time I get to go back to Kansas City and stuff my face with foods that I have dearly missed! (Which by the way is 2 weeks and 6 days..)
End vent.
